Emerald Mountain Estates - McDowell County NC, McDowell County Real Estate

Emerald Mountain Estates is located in the North Cove community of McDowell County NC. North Cove is centrally located in Western North Carolina, which allows residents of the area and Emerald Mountain Estates easy access to some the most popular and exciting attractions in the state. Perhaps the biggest draw of our community is it’s proximity to the Pisgah National Forest and Linville Gorge – they are literally right at our back door!

About 3,000 feet of the property line borders the Pisgah National Forest, which consists of over half a million acres of natural forest and is home to the Linville Gorge Wilderness. Sometimes called the Grand Canyon of the East, the Linville Gorge is so rugged that it was one of the only areas spared from clear-cut logging that affected most of the eastern forests shortly following the turn of the century. The 12,000 acre Gorge is the very definition of “unspoiled”. The chief architect of the Wilderness is the Linville River, which begins its trip at the southwestern slope of Grandfather Mountain and enters Linville Gorge at the impressive 90 foot Linville Falls. On the ridgetops you’ll find endangered plants that are found nowhere else in the world except for Grandfather Mountain. Just down the road from us is Linville Caverns, the only caverns in the state of North Carolina. Mineral deposits brought from above by rainwater continue to sculpt these pristine works of art, which are another prime example of the untouched natural wonders that surrounds Emerald Mountain Estates.

This unspoiled beauty is the inspiration of the lifestyle at Emerald Mountain Estates. The goal of the development is to preserve the natural splendor of our area and provide each and every resident with a free mountain view with every home site!
